Birthplace: Meadville, Pennsylvania
After working as a Ford model in the 1970s, Stone's movie career began with a nonspeaking part in Stardust Memories (1980). After playing in a number of unmemorable movies through the next decade, she sprang into the 1990s with roles in Total Recall (1990) and Basic Instinct (1992) and an Oscar nomination for Best Actress for her work in Casino (1995). Other films include The Mighty (1998), The Muse (1999), Broken Flowers (2005) and she revived her role of Catherine Tramell in Basic Instinct 2 (2006).
