Todos os Santos Bay (tô'&thstrok;oozoo sän'toos) [key][Port.,=all-saints bay], inlet of the Atlantic Ocean, 25 mi (40 km) long and 20 mi (32 km) wide, E Bahia, Brazil. It receives the Paraguaçu River. Brazil's first oil field (1939) is located N of Salvador, the bay's chief city. Itaparica, a large island at the mouth of the bay, has saltworks and oil fields. The fertile Reconcavo lowland surrounds the bay; subsistence crops, sugarcane, cotton, and tobacco are raised there. Todos os Santos Bay was discovered in 1501 by Amerigo Vespucci.
