San Vicente

San Vicente (sän vēsān'tā) [key], city (1993 pop. 28,529), central El Salvador. Among its industries are textile manufacturing and sugar milling. San Vicente is the commercial center of a region that produces coffee and sugarcane. From the nearby volcano San Vicente (7,360 ft/2,243 m) a wide vista of Central America may be seen. The town is noted for its 18th-century church, El Pilar.
