Borås

Borås (bOOrōs') [key], city (1990 pop. 59,710), Älvsborg co., SW Sweden, on the Viskan River. It is a transportation and commercial center and Sweden's leading textile center, with numerous cotton and woolen mills. Borås was founded in 1632 by Gustavus II.
