EncyclopediaOtsego LakeOtsego Lake (otsē'gō) [key], c.9 mi (14.5 km) long, E central N.Y., SE of Utica, in a resort region. A branch of the Susquehanna River issues from its southern end at Cooperstown. The lake is the Glimmerglass of James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking tales.
