Ponchielli, Amilcare

Ponchielli, Amilcare (ämēlkä'rā pōngkyel'lē) [key], 183486, Italian composer of several very successful operas. Only La Gioconda (1876), with libretto by Boito after Hugo's Angelo, is still performed.
