Mead, William Rutherford

Mead, William Rutherford, 1846–1928, American architect, b. Brattleboro, Vt. He entered the office of Russell Sturgis in New York City. In 1872 he began to practice architecture with C. F. McKim, and their partnership was joined by Stanford White in 1879 to make the famous firm of McKim, Mead, and White.
