EncyclopediaHerwegh, GeorgHerwegh, Georg (gā'ôrkh her'vāk) [key], 1817–75, German revolutionary poet. His best-known work, Gedichte eines Lebendigen [poems of a living man] (1841) stirred much liberal enthusiasm.
