EncyclopediaGough, RichardGough, Richard (gof) [key], 1735–1809, English antiquary, authority on British topography. His valuable collection of books and manuscripts is in the Bodleian Library, Oxford. Chief among his many works are Anecdotes of British Topography (1768; enl. ed.
