Brunhes, Jean

Brunhes, Jean (brün) [key], 18691932, French geographer. He was a leading exponent of French systematic, as opposed to regional, geography. He studied human artifacts in the context of environment. He authored many texts, including Human Geography (1910) and Human Geography of France (2 vol., 1920–26). He was appointed to the Collège de France in 1912.
