Ballantyne, James

Ballantyne, James (băl'untīn) [key], 17721833, Scottish editor and publisher. Ballantyne and his brother John set up a publishing business in Edinburgh with the aid of Sir Walter Scott. The firm published Scott's works, beginning in 1802 with Minstrelsy of the Scottish Border.
