Apollonius

Apollonius (ăp"ulō'nēus) [key], in the books of the Maccabees. 1. Governor of Coele-Syria and Phoenicia for Seleucus IV. He oppressed the Jews and was killed by Judas Maccabaeus. 2. Governor of Coele-Syria under Alexander Balas.
