Sometimes a leading lady and sometimes a bit player, she also appeared in Woody Allen's Sweet and Lowdown (1999, starring Sean Penn), the futuristic thriller Paycheck (2003, based on a story by Philip K. Dick), the comedy My Super Ex-Girlfriend (2006), the rom-com The Accidental Husband (2008) and the Nymphomaniac movies of Lars von Trier (2013). Thurman's TV credits include The Slap (2015) and Chambers (2019).
