Born: 21 November 1966 Birthplace: West Covina, California Best known as: Quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, 1989-2000 Troy Aikman was one of the most dominant professional football players in the United States during the 1990s, leading the Dallas Cowboys to three Super Bowl championships. After playing for the University of California at Los Angeles, Aikman was drafted by the Cowboys in 1989, a starter in his rookie season. By 1992 he was named the Most Valuable Player in his first Super Bowl victory (Super Bowl XXVII). Aikman sustained 10 concussions and several injuries in his career, forcing him to retire in 2001.
