Born: 8 September 1932 Died: 5 March 1963 (airplane crash) Birthplace: Winchester, Virginia Best known as: Country and pop sensation who sang "Crazy" Name at birth: Virginia Patterson Hensley In 1957 Patsy Cline appeared on the popular TV program Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts and sang " Walkin' After Midnight." The song went on to make both the country and pop charts, and Cline's career took off. She was the first female country star to cross over into pop, with hits that included "I Fall To Pieces" and "Crazy." In 1963 she was killed in a plane crash; in 1973 she was elected to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Extra credit: "I Fall To Pieces" is alleged to be Bill Clinton's favorite song.
