Born: 28 February 1984 Birthplace: Decin, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic) Best known as: Long-haired blonde model for Victoria's Secret Karolina Kurkova became famous in America when she appeared on the cover of Vogue in February 2001 at the tender age of 17. The daughter of a Czech basketball player, Kurkova stood out at 5' 11" with a golden-blonde head of hair. By 2002 she had become the newest "hot" face, winning the Model of the Year at the Vogue Fashion Awards. She has modelled extensively for Victoria's Secret (appearing in the company's annual television specials from 2001-2007) and for Chanel, Rolex, Christian Dior, Versace and many other brands.
