Actor Jeffrey Tambor has been a familiar face on television since the 1980s, and his knack for playing eccentric characters has brought Emmy nominations for his roles in The Larry Sanders Show (1992-98), Arrested Development (2003-06, 2013) and Transparent. Jeffrey Tambor got his first big break in the 1980s drama Hill Street Blues, as a cross-dressing defense attorney who becomes a judge. He played supporting roles for years, and even had his own short-lived sitcom (1986's Mr. Sunshine), but it was his turn as Garry Shandling's narcissistic sidekick in The Larry Sanders Show that brought him his first Emmy nomination -- and three more, between 1993 and 1998. In Arrested Development, Tambor played crooked patriarch George Bluth, Sr., and received two Emmy nominations in the first three seasons of the show. As the star of Transparent, Jeffrey Tambor won Emmys in 2015 and 2016.
