Jaden Smith made his movie debut in the 2006 drama The Pursuit of Happyness (2006), playing the son of his real-life father, actor Will Smith (Jaden's mom is actress Jada Pinkett Smith). Young Smith first appeared on screen in several episodes of the TV series All of Us in 2003 and 2004 (his parents helped create the show). With a solid start in the movies, Jaden's next job was a supporting role in the big-budget remake The Day the Earth Stood Still (2006, starring Keanu Reeves). He then landed the lead role in the remake of the 1980s hit The Karate Kid, starring opposite Jackie Chan in 2010.
