Born: 20 August 1970 Birthplace: Jacksonville, Florida Best known as: Tattooed lead singer for the band Limp Bizkit Name at birth: William Fredrick Durst Fred Durst is the front man for Limp Bizkit, the popular metal-hip hop hybrid band. As the group's vocalist and acknowledged leader, Durst first grabbed attention for his theatrical bad-boy ways, multiple tattoos, and slacker-look goatee and floppy caps. Limp Bizkit was created in 1994 and during its early heyday included Durst, guitarist Wes Borland (b. 7 February 1975), sonic specialist DJ Lethal (b. 18 December 1972), bassist Sam Rivers (b. 2 September 1977), and drummer John Otto (b. 22 March 1977). The group's albums include Three Dollar Bill Y'All$ (1997), Significant Other (1999), the oddly-named Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water (2000), Results May Vary (2003), and The Unquestionable Truth, Pt. 1 (2005). Durst has also dabbled in the movies, acting in the 2005 movie Sorry, Haters and directing the 2007 feature The Education of Charlie Banks. Extra credit: Before hitting it big with the band, Durst served in the U.S. Navy and worked as a tattoo artist. Copyright © 1998-2006 by Who2?, LLC. All rights reserved.
