Best Known As:
The younger woman in the movie Up in the Air

Actress Anna Kendrick earned an Oscar nomination in 2010 for her role in the Jason Reitman movie Up in the Air. In the film she plays George Clooney's buttoned-down colleague -- as opposed to his unbuttoned cohort, played by Vera Farmiga. The nomination came after a big year for Kendrick, who also plays Jessica in the Twilight films based on the novels by Stephenie Meyer. An actor since childhood, Kendrick made her Broadway debut in the 1998 musical High Society, earning a Tony Award nomination when she was not yet 13 years old. After graduation from high school in 2003, she began a film career, impressing critics with roles in the films Camp (2003) and Rocket Science (2007). The success of Twilight (2008) and New Moon (2009, both starring Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart) put Kendrick in the spotlight, and her turn in Up in the Air solidified her reputation as a young actress on the rise. Her other films include 50/50 (2011, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt) and End of Watch (2012, starring Jake Gyllenhaal).
