Best known as: Redhead star of the moviesJunebug and Enchanted
Actress Amy Adams played the gabby and guileless Ashley in the 2005 film Junebug, which earned her an Oscar nomination for best supporting actress. She made her movie debut in the 1999 film Drop Dead Gorgeous (with Kirsten Dunst), and she made the most of a small role opposite Leonardo DiCaprio in 2002's Catch Me If You Can (directed by Steven Spielberg). Adams also co-starred with Rob Lowe in the short-lived 2004 TV series Dr. Vegas, but Junebug was her breakout role. A warm reception at the Sundance Film Festival earned an acting prize for Adams and wider distribution for the film. Her other movies include Pumpkin (2002, starring Christina Ricci), Talladega Nights: The Ricky Bobby Story (2006, as the mousy girlfriend of Will Ferrell and co-star of Sacha Baron Cohen) and the Disney feature Enchanted (2007, with Patrick Dempsey).
Extra credit: A different Amy Adams was one of the contestants on American Idol in 2004, the year Fantasia Barrino won the competition... Some sources list her birthday as 1975 rather than 1974.
