American screen actress Amanda Seyfried is best known as a dimwitted sidekick from the comedy Mean Girls and the star of the musical movie Mamma Mia! Seyfried was a model between the ages of 11 and 17, and in 2000 she began getting TV roles in soap operas. Her big break came in 2004, playing ditzy Karen of "The Plastics" group in Mean Girls (starring Linday Lohan and Rachel McAdams) in her movie debut. Seyfried then played a recurring character (in flashback) on the series Veronica Mars, followed by four seasons of the cable show Big Love (2006-11). A willowy blond with big eyes, she's since worked in feature films, with lead roles in the musical Mamma Mia! (2008, starring Meryl Streep), the romance Dear John (2010, with Channing Tatum) and the biopic Lovelace (2013, as Linda Lovelace). Her other films include Alpha Dog (2006, with Emile Hirsch), Jennifer's Body (2009, written by Diablo Cody), Les Misérables (2012, starring Hugh Jackman) and Mank (2020, directed by David Fincher).
