YOUNG, Bryan Rust,
(brother of William Singleton Young and uncle of John Young Brown),
a Representative from Kentucky; born near Bardstown, Nelson County,
Ky., January 14, 1800; attended the common schools and was
graduated from the University of Louisville, Louisville, Ky.;
studied medicine and practiced his profession in Nelson County,
Ky.; member of State house of representatives in 1858-1859,
1861-1862, and 1863-1864; elected as a Whig to the Twenty-ninth
Congress (March 4, 1845-March 3, 1847); resumed the practice of
medicine; died in Elizabethtown, Ky., May 14, 1882; interment in
Elizabethtown Cemetery.
