executive director, Mahoning County, Ohio, Drug Program, Inc.,
1971-1981; sheriff, Mahoning County, Ohio, 1981-1985; elected as a
Democrat to the Ninety-ninth and to the eight succeeding Congresses
(January 3, 1985-July 24, 2002); expelled from the House of
Representatives pursuant to H. Res. 495, passed on July 24, 2002;
unsuccessful candidate as an Independent for the One Hundred Eighth
Congress in 2002.
