TEJEDA, Frank Mariano, a
Representative from Texas; born in San Antonio, Tex., October 2,
1945; served in the United States Marine Corps, 1963-1967; B.A.,
St. Mary’s University, 1970; J.D., University of California
School of Law, Berkeley, 1974; M.P.A., John F. Kennedy School of
Government, Harvard University, 1980; LL.M., Yale University School
of Law, 1989; admitted to the bar in 1974 and commenced the
practice of law; Texas State representative, 1977-1987; Texas State
senator, 1987-1993; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Third
and to the two succeeding Congresses and served from January 3,
1993 until his death on January 30, 1997; posthumously awarded the
Silver Star.
