operations officer, Central Intelligence Agency, 1969-1979; staff
for United States Senator John Chafee of Rhode Island, 1979-1981;
staff, Select Committee on Intelligence, 1981-1985; member of the
Connecticut general assembly, 1990-2000; elected as a Republican to
the One Hundred Seventh and to the two succeeding Congresses
(January 3, 2001-January 3, 2007); unsuccessful candidate for
reelection to the One Hundred Tenth Congress in 2006.
