SCULLY, Thomas Joseph, a
Representative from New Jersey; born in South Amboy, Middlesex
County, N.J., September 19, 1868; attended the public schools, and
Seton Hall College, South Orange, N.J.; engaged in the towing and
transportation business; member of the board of education
1893-1895; mayor of South Amboy, N.J., in 1909 and 1910; elected as
a Democrat to the Sixty-second and to the four succeeding
Congresses (March 4, 1911-March 3, 1921); delegate to the
Democratic National Convention in 1912; again mayor of South Amboy,
from 1921 until his death in that city December 14, 1921; interment
in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
