S., Bradley University, Peoria, Ill., 2002; business owner; entrepreneur; member, Peoria, Ill. board of education, 2001-2005; president, Peoria, Ill., board of education, 2004-2005; member of the Illinois state house of representatives, 2005-2008; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Eleventh and to the succeeding Congress (January 3, 2009-present).
