SANTINI James David , a Representative from Nevada; born in Reno, Washoe County, Nev., August 13, 1937; graduated from Manogue High School, Reno, 1955; B.S., University of Nevada, Reno, 1959; J.D., Hastings College of Law, San Francisco, Calif., 1962; admitted to the Nevada bar in 1962 and commenced practice in Las Vegas; admitted to the California bar in 1963 and the Arizona bar in 1966; served in the United States Army, 1963-1966; Clark County, Nev., deputy district attorney, 1966-1968; Clark County public defender, 1968-1970; served as Las Vegas, Nev., justice of the peace, 1970-1972; district court judge of Clark County, 1972-1974; owner and teacher, Nevada Bar Review, 1969-1974; elected as a Democrat to the Ninety-fourth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1975-January 3, 1983); was not a candidate for reelection to the United States House of Representatives but was an unsuccessful candidate for the United States Senate in 1982; unsuccessful Republican candidate for the United States Senate in 1986; resumed the practice of law in Washington, D.C.; died on September 22, 2015, in Rockville, Md.
