legislative director for United States Senator Sam Brownback of
Kansas, 1995-1997; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Sixth
and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1999-present);
chair, Committee on the Budget (One Hundred Twelfth Congress).
