ROGERS, Paul Grant, (son
of Dwight L. Rogers), a Representative from Florida; born in
Ocilla, Irwin County, Ga., June 4, 1921; B.A., University of
Florida, Gainesville, Fla.,1942; United States Army, 1942-1946;
attended George Washington University School of Law, Washington,
D.C.; J.D., University of Florida, Gainesville, Fla., 1948; lawyer,
private practice; member, board of directors, Merck & Co. and
Mutual Life Insurance Co. of New York; elected as a Democrat to the
Eighty-fourth Congress by special election, to fill the vacancy
caused by the death of his father, United States Representative
Dwight L. Rogers, and reelected to the eleven succeeding Congresses
(January 4, 1955-January 3, 1979); was not a candidate for
reelection to the Ninety-sixth Congress in 1978; died on October
13, 2008, in Washington, D.C.
