States Representative Thomas S. Kleppe of North Dakota, 1970;
adjunct professor, American University, Washington, D.C.,
1974-1978; deputy campaign manager for United States Representative
William E. Frenzel of Minnesota, 1978; member of the Minnesota
state senate, 1981-1990; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred
Second and to the eight succeeding Congresses (January 3,
1991-January 3, 2009); was not a candidate for reelection to the
One Hundred Eleventh Congress in 2008.
