PEARSON, Herron Carney, a
Representative from Tennessee; born in Taylor, Williamson County,
Tex., July 31, 1890; moved to Jackson, Tenn., in 1891; attended the
public and high schools; was graduated from Union University,
Jackson, Tenn., in 1910 and from the law department of Cumberland
University, Lebanon, Tenn., in 1912; was admitted to the bar the
same year and commenced practice in Jackson, Tenn.; served as
municipal judge of the city of Jackson, Tenn., in 1915; city
attorney of Jackson, Tenn., 1920-1923; elected as a Democrat to the
Seventy-fourth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3,
1935-January 3, 1943); was not a candidate for renomination in
1942; resumed the practice of law; died in Jackson, Tenn., April
24, 1953; interment in Hollywood Cemetery.
