Reid Fred MURRAY, Congress, WI (1887-1952)

MURRAY Reid Fred , a Representative from Wisconsin; born in Ogdensburg, Waupaca County, Wis., October 16, 1887; attended the public schools and Manawa High School; was graduated from the College of Agriculture of the University of Wisconsin at Madison in 1916; served as agricultural agent for railroads in St. Paul, Minn., 1914-1917, for Winnebago County, Wis., 1917-1919, and for the First National Bank, Oshkosh, Wis., 1919-1922; professor of animal husbandry, at the College of Agriculture, University of Wisconsin, 1922-1927; engaged in agricultural pursuits and in the buying and selling of cattle and farms, Waupaca, Wis., 1927-1939; elected as a Republican to the Seventy-sixth and to the six succeeding Congresses and served from January 3, 1939, until his death in Bethesda, Md., April 29, 1952; interment in Park Cemetery, one mile north of Ogdensburg, Wis.
