Miami-Edison High School, Miami, Fla.; A.A., Miami-Dade Community
College, Miami, Fla., 1965, B.A., University of Florida,
Gainesville, Fla., 1967; businessman; member of the Florida state
house of representatives, 1977-1981; staff for United States
Senator Paula F. Hawkins of Florida, 1981-1985; elected as a
Republican to the One Hundred Third and to the nine succeeding
Congresses (January 3, 1993-present); chair, Committee on
Transportation and Infrastructure (One Hundred Twelfth
Congress).
