MATHIS, Marvin Dawson, a
Representative from Georgia; born in Nashville, Berrien County,
Ga., November 30, 1940; attended the Nashville public schools;
attended South Georgia College in Douglas, Ga.; news director,
WALB-TV, Albany, Ga., 1964-1970; elected as a Democrat to the
Ninety-second and to the four succeeding Congresses (January 3,
1971-January 3, 1981); unsuccessful candidate for nomination to the
United States Senate in 1980; private advocate; is a resident of
Upper Marlboro, Md.
