LIND, James Francis, a Representative from Pennsylvania; born in York, Pa., October 17, 1900; attended the public schools in York, Pa.; graduated from Penn State Extension School, Pa.; accountant; United States Army, 1917-1920, 1941-1946, 1953; United States Army Reserve, 1934-1941; Pennsylvania National Guard, 1934-1941; Veterans’ Administration of York County, Pa., 1946-1947; chief clerk to York County, Pa., Board of Commissioners, 1948; elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-first and Eighty-second Congresses (January 3, 1949-January 3, 1953); unsuccessful candidate for reelection to the Eighty-third Congress in 1952; controller, York County, Pa., 1954-1974; died on April 11, 1975, York, Pa.; interment in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
