LEMIEUX, George S., a Senator from Florida; born in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., May 21, 1969; attended public schools in Coral Springs, Fla.; B.A., Emory University, Atlanta, Ga. 1991; J.D., Georgetown University, Washington, D.C., 1994; practiced law; chairman, Broward County Republican Party 2000-2002; deputy attorney general 2003-2005; chief of staff to Florida Governor Charlie Crist 2007; appointed on September 9, 2009, to the United States Senate to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Melquiades R. Martinez; took the oath of office and served from September 10, 2009, to January 3, 2011; did not seek election in 2010.
