LAMB, Alfred William, a
Representative from Missouri; born in Stamford, Delaware County,
N.Y., March 18, 1824; moved with his parents to Ralls County, Mo.,
in 1836; attended Doctor Ely’s school in Ely, Mo.; studied
law; was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Hannibal,
Mo.; elected as a Democrat to the Thirty-third Congress (March 4,
1853-March 3, 1855); declined to be a candidate for renomination in
1854; resumed the practice of law; died in Hannibal, Marion County,
Mo., April 29, 1888; interment in Riverside Cemetery.
