KEHR, Edward Charles, a
Representative from Missouri; born in St. Louis, Mo., November 5,
1837; pursued an academic course; studied law; was admitted to the
bar in 1858 and commenced practice in St. Louis; elected as a
Democrat to the Forty-fourth Congress (March 4, 1875-March 3,
1877); unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1878 to the
Forty-fifth Congress; engaged in the practice of law in St. Louis,
Mo., until his death in that city on April 20, 1918; the remains
were cremated and the ashes deposited in the columbarium of the
Missouri Crematory.
