Mike JOHANNS

JOHANNS, Mike, a Senator from Nebraska; born in Osage, Iowa, June 18, 1950; B.A., St. Mary’s College, Winona, Minn., 1971; J.D., Creighton University, Omaha, Nebr., 1974; practiced law; Lancaster County (Nebr.) Board of Commissioners, 1983-1987; Lincoln City Council, 1989-1991; mayor of Lincoln, Nebr., 1991-1998; governor of Nebraska, 1999-2005; Secretary of Agriculture in the Cabinet of President George W. Bush, 2005-2007; elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 2008 for the term ending January 3, 2015.
