GRANGER Daniel Larned Davis , a Representative from Rhode Island; born in Providence, R.I., May 30, 1852; attended the common schools; was graduated from Brown University, Providence, R.I., in 1874 and from the law department of Boston University in 1877; was admitted to the bar in 1877 and commenced practice in Providence, R.I.; reading clerk of the State house of representatives 1887-1890; treasurer of Providence from January 1890 to January 1901; mayor in 1901 and 1902; elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-eighth, Fifty-ninth, and Sixtieth Congresses and served from March 4, 1903, until his death in Washington, D.C., February 14, 1909; interment in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence, R.I.
