Representative from Indiana; born in Jasper, Dubois County, Ind.,
September 11, 1958; B.S., Indiana State University, Evansville,
Ind., 1981; M.S., Indiana State University, Evansville, Ind., 1993;
police officer; sheriff, Vanderburgh County, Ind., 1999-2007;
elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Tenth and to the
succeeding Congress (January 3, 2007-January 3, 2011); not a
candidate for reelection to the One Hundred Twelfth Congress, but
was an unsuccessful candidate for the United States Senate in
2010.
