COURTNEY, Joe, a Representative from Connecticut; born in West Stafford, Tolland County, Conn., April 6, 1953; B.A, Tufts University, Boston, Mass, 1975; J.D., University of Connecticut, 1978; lawyer, private practice; member of the Connecticut general assembly, 1987-1994; elected as a Democrat to the One Hundred Tenth Congress (January 3, 2007-present).
