house of representatives, 1989-1994; member of the Colorado state
senate, 1994-1998; Colorado state treasurer, 1999-2007; Colorado
secretary of state, 2007-2008; elected as a Republican to the One
Hundred Eleventh and to the succeeding Congress (January 3,
2009-present).
