Senator Jean Carnahan, grandson of Representative Albert Carnahan),
a Representative from Missouri; born in Columbia, Boone County,
Mo., July 10, 1958; B.A., University of Missouri, Columbia, Mo.,
1979; J.D., University of Missouri School of Law, Columbia, Mo.,
1983; unsuccessful candidate for election the United States House
of Representatives in 1990; member, Missouri state house of
representatives, 2000-2004; elected as a Democrat to the One
Hundred Ninth and to the three succeeding Congresses (January 3,
2005-present).
