Bill Schuette of Michigan, 1984-1987; member of the Michigan state
house of representatives, 1989-1990; elected as a Republican to the
One Hundred Second and to the ten succeeding Congresses (January 3,
1991-present); chair, Committee on Ways and Means (One Hundred
