BUERKLE, Ann Marie, a Representative from New York; born in Auburn, Cayuga County, N.Y., May 8, 1951; R.N., St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Nursing, Nashua, N.H., 1972; B.S., Lemoyne College, Syracuse, N.Y., 1977; J.D., Syracuse University, Syracuse, N.Y., 1994; nurse; assistant New York state attorney general, 1997-2010; member of the Syracuse Common Council, 1994-1995; unsuccessful candidate for election to Onondaga County legislature in 1987 and 1999; elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Twelfth Congress (January 3, 2011-present).
