BRYAN, Henry Hunter,
(brother of Joseph Hunter Bryan), a Representative from Tennessee;
born in Martin County, N.C., February 23, 1786; attended grammar
and high schools; moved to Tennessee and held several local
offices; elected as a Republican to the Sixteenth Congress (March
4, 1819-March 3, 1821); had been reelected to the Seventeenth
Congress but did not qualify; died in Montgomery County, Tenn., May
7, 1835.
