BLACKWELL, Julius W., a
Representative from Tennessee; born in Virginia in 1797c; attended
the public schools; moved to Tennessee and settled in Athens,
McMinn County; elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-sixth Congress
(March 4, 1839-March 3, 1841); unsuccessful candidate for
reelection to the Twenty-seventh Congress in 1840; elected to the
Twenty-eighth Congress (March 4, 1843-March 3, 1845); unsuccessful
candidate for reelection to the Twenty-ninth Congress in 1844;
death date unknown.
